All Star Children Services Inc. is seeking a part-time cook for Whispering Pines Early Learning Centre in Blind River. The role starts at 25 hours per week and may grow to 30 hours. Responsibilities include grocery shopping once or twice weekly; a vehicle and valid driver's license are required.

Start date is as soon as possible. Salary is $25.03 per hour with a part-time schedule. Closing date is September 04, 2026.

Qualifications

• Certificate in Culinary Skills/Chef Training or equivalent in food prep.
• Safe Food Handler certificate.
• Knowledge of Canada Food Guide and health standards.
• Knowledge of food allergies and substitutions.
• Current Standard First Aid and Infant/Child CPR.
• Vulnerable Sector Police Check.
• Health assessment and current immunization.
• English and French bilingualism an asset.
• Vehicle and Ontario Driver’s License with insurance.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals for children in the childcare centre following dietary needs.
• Shop for groceries once or twice a week based on attendance.
• Transport groceries using a valid vehicle.

Job Description

All Star Children Services is looking for a part-time cook for our new childcare centre. This centre is located in the new school, Three Rivers. This a part-time position starting at 25 hours per week and as we grow the hours can go up to 30 hours per week. This position involves grocery shopping once or twice a week depending on the number of children, so a vehicle and valid drivers licence is required.

Start date: As soon as possible.

Required Skills

• Certificate in Culinary Skills/Chef Training or combination of education and experience in food preparation, nutrition, and dietary requirements
• Current Safe Food Handlers Certificate
• Knowledge of the Canada Food Guide and Health Standards as set out by the Medical Officer of Health
• Knowledge of Food Allergies and Food Substitutions
• Current Standard First Aid Certificate and Infant/Child CPR
• Current Vulnerable Sector Police Check
• Health Assessment and Current Immunization
• Bilingual in English and French an asset
• Possession of a vehicle, valid Ontario Driver’s License and required insurance
