Job summary

BrightPath Kids in Milverton and Matheson West is seeking a Cook to prepare nutritious meals for children in care. The role is split between two centers, starting at Matheson West and transferring to Milverton upon daily routines.

You will organize orders, follow a set weekly menu, ensure safety and sanitation, and accommodate dietary restrictions. A valid Food Handling Certification and driver's license are required. Benefits include health/dental/vision insurance and RRSP matching.

Qualifications

• Must have Food Handling Certification.
• Meet province requirements for childcare employment.
• Current Standard First Aid and Infant CPR.
• Valid driver's license.
• Experience cooking for large groups is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Prepare nutritious meals for breakfast, lunch and snacks for children.
• Organize weekly bulk food orders and daily shopping.
• Follow a set weekly menu and recipes.
• Ensure kitchen safety and sanitation per Public Health rules.
• Accommodate dietary restrictions for individual children.
• Assist lead cook for two hours at Matheson West; transfer food to Milverton.
• Wash dishes after meals and perform other duties as assigned.

Additional responsibilities: This position is split between Matheson West and Milverton. Cook will begin at Matheson West location and work together with Matheson’s cook to prepare for both centres. At 11:00am, cook will then transfer to Milverton and finish off at our location

What will you be doing?

As a Cook, you will prepare nutritious meals for breakfast, lunch, and snacks for the children in our care. Responsibilities include:

• Organizing orders for bulk food weekly and daily shopping as needed.
• Preparing meals from a set menu with recipes provided weekly.
• Ensuring safety and sanitization in the kitchen environment as per Public Health requirements.
• Understanding dietary restrictions in center for individual children.
• Working 2 hours at the Matheson West center to assist the lead cook
• Transferring food back to Milverton location
• Washing dishes after meals.
• Other duties as assigned.
