The Role
  • Conveyor Belt Splicer will lead junior technicians to perform service works at customer sites, including installation and vulcanization of conveyor belts, lagging of pulleys, installation of repair fasteners, and related tasks.
  • You will travel regularly to quarries, mines, and cement plants to ensure customers are up and running quickly and efficiently.
  • This role requires leadership skills and the ability to work away from the office/warehouse setting as a team with limited supervision.
  • Language: English
Education / Qualifications
  • Completion of secondary school
  • General mechanical aptitude
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in conveyor belt splicing or rubber lining
  • Experience working outdoors (cold, heat, noise) in a physically demanding role
  • Ability to lift 60+ lbs. with the assistance of another person
  • Strong work ethic, self-motivated, a go-getter

Responsibilities
  • Perform and assist with heavy-duty conveyor belt installation & vulcanization
  • Perform hot, cold & mechanical splicing
  • Execute lagging of pulleys, installation of repair fasteners, and rubber lining
  • Set up, operate and tend machinery used for mixing, calendering, extruding, moulding and curing rubber materials or rubber products
  • Layout and prepare rubber materials for assembly; operate machines to cut, shape, splice, fit, and cement rubber materials to form rubber parts or finished rubber products
  • Ensure compliance with company and customer safety policies and procedures
  • Provide training and supervision for junior technicians
  • Ensure safety compliance
