Job summary

Accountant Staffing is seeking an experienced Controller to own a complex, multi-entity financial operation based in Labrador City, NL. You will oversee full-cycle accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance across several entities.

The role requires strong leadership of a small accounting team, hands-on problem solving, and collaboration with senior leadership and external auditors. CPA designation is highly valued.

Qualifications

• CPA designation strongly preferred; CPA candidates with significant experience will be considered.
• Experience in full-cycle accounting and financial reporting.

Responsibilities

• Oversee full-cycle accounting and financial operations for multiple companies and business units.
• Prepare, review, and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Manage financial reporting requirements across multiple entities.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and variance analysis.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger, and related administrative functions.
• Lead, mentor, and support a team of approximately 2 - 4 accounting and administrative staff.
• Establish and maintain effective financial controls, policies, and processes.
• Coordinate year-end accounting and audit requirements.
• Liaise with external accountants, auditors, financial institutions, and professional advisors.
• Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, tax requirements, and company policies.
• Monitor cash flow and working capital requirements across multiple entities.
• Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, reporting, systems, and operational efficiencies.
• Provide financial guidance and support to operational leaders.

Key Responsibilities for the Job:
