Job summary

Randstad Canada is seeking a driven Senior Accountant to own financial reporting, month-end close, audit preparation, and corporate tax support in a dynamic distribution business. Qualifications

  • 4 to 6 years of progressive financial accounting and reporting experience in a medium-to-large complex corporate entity or distribution/manufacturing environment.
  • CPA designation (or in final stages / CFE passed).
  • Experience or familiarity with PowerBI or dashboard automation is a strong asset.
  • Soft skills: strong business acumen, ownership mindset, ability to meet strict deadlines, and excellent communication to translate financial concepts for non-finance colleagues.

Responsibilities

  • Financial Reporting & Close: Drive and take ownership of the month-end close process within a fast-paced close timeline, ensuring accurate and timely financial statements.
  • Audit Preparation & Support: Lead year-end audit preparation, preparing schedule workpapers, supporting external auditors, and ensuring smooth audit execution.
  • Tax Compliance: Prepare and file monthly/quarterly sales tax filings (GST, PST, etc.) and assist with corporate tax schedules and inquiries.
  • Financial Analysis & Communication: Analyze monthly variances, translate financial data into actionable insights, and clearly communicate findings to non-financial operational stakeholders.
  • Operational Accounting: Assist with general ledger oversight, account reconciliations, inventory accounting, and internal control reviews across complex distribution entities.
  • Process Improvement: Partner with the leadership team on process automation, dashboard creation (PowerBI), and system enhancements to improve reporting efficiency.
