Job summary

Turner & Townsend in Calgary is seeking a senior contracts and procurement professional to lead strategies for energy and natural resources projects. You will manage end-to-end procurement, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and ensure compliant, high-quality commercial outcomes.

Hybrid work is offered, with opportunities to influence major capital programs while guiding project teams and governance processes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, Law, Quantity Surveying, or a related discipline.
  • 10-15 years of contracts and procurement experience in major capital projects, infrastructure, energy, natural resources, or industrial environments.
  • Experience implementing contracting and procurement strategies and delivering procurement plans.
  • Strong knowledge of pre-award and post-award contract management, tendering, negotiation, and close-out activities.
  • Experience applying commercial principles, governance, and risk mitigation to complex projects.
  • Ability to manage multiple contracts and stakeholders with strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review, and administer contract documents and related procurement paperwork.
  • Coordinate tendering and sourcing activities, including bidder engagement and award recommendations.

  • Monitor contractor performance, administer variations, manage claims, and resolve issues.
  • Maintain procurement plans, contract records and governance documentation.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute contracting and procurement strategies, plans, and processes in support of project objectives and approved commercial frameworks.
  • Manage a portfolio of contracts and procurement packages through the full lifecycle, including sourcing, tendering, award, administration, and close‑out.
  • Prepare, review, and administer contract documents, commercial terms, purchase orders, amendments, and related procurement documentation.
  • Coordinate tendering and sourcing activities, including bidder engagement, bid clarification, evaluation, negotiation, and award recommendations.
  • Implement supplier and contractor prequalification processes to ensure compliance with project requirements, capacity expectations, and local content objectives.
  • Support effective post‑award contract management by monitoring contractor performance, administering variations, managing claims, and resolving commercial issues.
  • Maintain procurement plans, contract records, reporting, and governance documentation, ensuring compliance with approved procedures and audit requirements.
  • Collaborate with project, technical, finance, and procurement stakeholders to support successful contract execution, risk management, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, Law, Quantity Surveying, or a related discipline.
  • 10-15 years of contracts and procurement experience, preferably within major capital projects, infrastructure, energy, natural resources, or industrial environments.
  • Proven experience implementing contracting and procurement strategies and delivering procurement plans in accordance with project and business objectives.
  • Strong knowledge of pre‑award and post‑award contract management, including tendering, bid evaluation, negotiation, contract administration, and close‑out activities.
  • Practical experience applying commercial principles, contract terms and conditions, procurement procedures, and governance requirements to complex projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple contracts and stakeholders while effectively identifying and mitigating commercial and contractual risks.
  • Experience working within multidisciplinary and multicultural project teams, with strong communication, relationship management, and collaboration skills.
  • Self‑motivated, detail‑oriented professional with strong judgment, problem‑solving capabilities, and a track record of delivering high‑quality contracts and procurement outcomes in dynamic project environments.

Preferred

  • Experience supporting local content and supplier development initiatives.
  • Experience working in remote, brownfield, greenfield, or frontier project environments.
