Job summary

AtkinsRéalis Canada is seeking a Contracts Manager to support the Contracts Director in administration and change management from award through closeout on a major project. You will lead contract administration, assess and implement commercial measures to ensure profitable execution, and proactively minimize liabilities and risks across the project team.

Responsibilities include monitoring compliance, driving claim management, managing subcontractor performance, and negotiating change orders

Qualifications

• A university degree in engineering, finance, law or MBA with 5–10 years of experience in contract formulation, negotiation and administration in construction or high-tech industries.
• Formal training in contract law or contract administration is an asset.
• Experience with tendering process, contract administration, budgetary cost value and reduction capability, procurement and subcontract administration.
• Knowledge of commercial and contractual customs and practices, and their application to the roles and relationships in the company.

Responsibilities

• Monitor compliance with contractual obligations and identify potential contract changes or deviations.
• Lead implementation of claim management processes to resolve unforeseen situations during project execution, including claims against third parties.
• Monitor performance of project partners and subcontractors in fulfilling contractual obligations and advise of potential problems and opportunities.
• Support or lead in the formulation, negotiation, and execution of change orders to contracts, subcontracts and collaboration agreements, interfacing with Legal, Insurance, and Bank Guarantees.
• Identify and analyze potential commercial risks and liabilities associated with the project.
• Collaborate with legal, finance and risk management teams.
• Formulate self-consistent and commercially sound terms and conditions for proposals, tenders and bids.
• Assist with close out of contracts, change orders and subcontracts, ensuring deliverables and payments comply with contractual requirements.
