Job summary

British Columbia Public School Employers' Association | Make a Future - Careers in BC Education seeks a Contract Teacher Teaching on Call for Elkford Secondary School in Elkford, BC. The position covers Career Education 7-9 and Social Studies 10, with one block each, totaling a 1.0 FTE temporary assignment on site.

The ideal candidate will hold BC Teacher Certification, have secondary-level teaching experience in Career Education and Social Studies, and provide references.

Qualifications

• Must have a degree/formal training and/or teaching experience in subjects and at a level specific to this posting.
• Must have a degree/formal training and/or teaching experience at the Secondary level.
• Must have teaching experience in Career Education and Social Studies.
• Must provide a resume, certificates and preferably at least three (3) current supervisory references.
• Applicants will be subject to the Criminal Records Review Act.

Responsibilities

• Teach Career Education 7-9 and Social Studies 10, Contract Teacher Teaching on Call, 7-12.
• 1.0 FTE temporary contract from October 2, 2026 to June 25, 2027 (or return of incumbent).
• On-site work only; schedule includes blocks for Career Education 7/8, Career Education 9, Social Studies 10 and a Contract Teacher Teaching on Call for grades 7–12.
• Continuing teachers may need to vacate their assignment to accept temporary posting if required by the FTE.
