Job summary

Bombardier Transportation GmbH is seeking a Project Manager - Plant Engineering to lead and coordinate multiple industrial projects at the Dorval plant near Montreal. You will assess needs, manage layout/infrastructure, and ensure deliverables meet plans and deadlines.

The ideal candidate holds a university or college degree in engineering or architecture, has 5+ years of PM experience, demonstrates strong synthesis, and communicates effectively in French and English.

Qualifications

• University or college degree in engineering or architecture is required.
• 5+ years of project management experience in an industrial setting.
• Excellent synthesis and ability to communicate technical info in French and English.

Responsibilities

• Define plant needs for layout and infrastructure.
• Present projects to internal stakeholders and report progress.
• Develop innovative solutions while meeting customer needs.
• Enforce health, safety and environmental rules.
• Ensure deliverables meet plans, specs and deadlines.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously and monitor budgets.
• Oversee work in areas like HSE and Quality with external contractors.
• Flag budget variances to Bombardier managers.

What are your contributions to the team?

• Establish the needs of the various sectors of the plant in terms of layout or infrastructure.
• Present projects to internal entities and communicate their progress.
• Develop and choose innovative solutions while respecting customer needs.
• Respect the rules in terms of health, safety and the environment and intervene as needed.
• Ensure that deliverables comply with plans and specifications and meet deadlines.
• Plan several projects simultaneously while respecting the challenges and constraints of operations.
• Manage the work under your responsibility (HSE, Quality, etc.) by ensuring constant monitoring of external contractors.
• Respect budgets and inform Bombardier managers when required of any excess costs related to the project.

How to thrive in this role?

• You have a university degree or college diploma in the field of industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, civil engineering, architecture / or Equivalent.
• You have more than 5 years of experience as a project manager in an industrial environment or Equivalent.
• You demonstrate an excellent spirit of synthesis; you easily popularize technical information in your written and oral communications while demonstrating an excellent command of French and a good knowledge of English.
• You have good computer skills in a Windows environment: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project, Teams etc.
• You are a good communicator; you easily interact with several stakeholders from different backgrounds.
• You are autonomous, innovative and dynamic.
• You show leadership and you have very good ability to work with multidisciplinary teams.
• You are a very organized person, you are results-oriented while remaining flexible to changing priorities and accustomed to working on several projects at the same time.
• You have experience in project management and ideally in drawing on Autocad.
