Job summary

Bombardier Aerospace Canada, Dorval, is seeking a Professional Senior Engineer for RM&S Engineering to strengthen our aircraft safety program. You will lead reliability, maintainability and safety deliverables for complex systems and coordinate certification activities with partners and regulators.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical, Electrical or Mechanical engineering and 7+ years in RM&S, with strong knowledge of FMEAs, FTAs and safety analyses.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical, Electrical or Mechanical engineering with 7+ years RM&S experience.
• Strong aerospace background with knowledge of aircraft performance and certification.
• Experience with FMEAs, FTAs and Safety Analysis required.
• Ability to communicate technical proposals to management.

Responsibilities

• Prepare Aircraft/System Safety Analysis and risk assessments per 525.1309 and FAR/CS 25.1309.
• Be responsible for Reliability, Maintainability & Safety deliverables for assigned systems.
• Identify and resolve system safety issues supporting Continuing Airworthiness.
• Participate in FHA, FTA, safety analysis and RM&S certification reports.
• Coordinate certification activities across Bombardier, partners, regulators and customers.

What are your contributions to the team?

• Prepare the Aircraft / System Safety Analysis and/or Particular Risk Assessments compliance reports and demonstrating compliance with AWM 525.1309, FAR/CS part 25.1309 and other relevant requirements.
• Be responsible for Reliability, Maintainability & Safety deliverables specific to assigned systems.
• Identify, follow up, and resolve all system safety issues and particular risks issues in support of the Continuing Airworthiness Process.
• Participate in aircraft / system functional hazard analysis, fault tree analysis, system safety assessment, failure mode and effect analysis and the final R,M&S certification reports.
• The duties will also require certification activities involving co‑ordination of technical issues and resolutions across all Bombardier, Partner/Supplier, Regulatory and Customer parties.

How to thrive in this role?

• You possess a Bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical, Electrical or Mechanical engineering with at least seven (7) years relevant experience in the field of R,M&S.
• You have a strong aerospace background, and an excellent understanding of aircraft performance characteristics, aircraft systems definition, integration, interfaces, component qualification, reliability and safety requirements and certification process of aircraft systems.
• You preferably have been directly involved in the aircraft definition and certification.
• Knowledge of creating Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEAs), Fault Tree Analysis (FTAs) and Safety Analysis is required.
• You must be cognizant of the relevant Airworthiness Regulations such as ARP 4761, ARP 4754 and the certification process.
• You have the ability to communicate sound technical proposals and work status to management, be a team player, a self‑motivated person and be able to work under pressure.
• You possess a strong sense of responsibility and integrity.
• You possess strong communication skills, verbal and written.
• You are familiar with a Microsoft 365 environment.
