Job summary

Bombardier is seeking a Technical Expert Senior in RM&S Engineering to lead safety analyses, risk assessments, and certification activities across aircraft systems. The role requires deep knowledge of RM&S disciplines, ARP 4754, and experience with FMEAs/FTAs.

You will coordinate with internal teams, suppliers and authorities, presenting complex technical solutions and ensuring Continuing Airworthiness compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical, Electrical or Mechanical engineering.
• Knowledge of creating FMEAs, Fault Tree Analyses (FTAs) and Safety Analysis.
• Familiarity with Airworthiness Regulations, ARP 4754.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and/or approve Aircraft/ System Safety Analysis and Risk Assessments.
• Oversee Reliability, Maintainability & Safety deliverables for aircraft systems.
• Identify and resolve safety issues in Continuing Airworthiness processes.
• Participate in hazard analyses, FMEA/FTA, and certification reports.
• Coordinate with Bombardier, suppliers and customers for certification activities.
• Present to senior management and authorities, supporting complex initiatives.

What are your contributions to the team?

• Prepare and/or approve Aircraft / System Safety Analysis and/or Particular Risk Assessments compliance reports and demonstrating compliance with FAR/CS part 25.1309 and other relevant requirements.

• Be responsible for Reliability, Maintainability & Safety deliverables for different aircraft platform systems including aircraft level assessments and design phase activities and studies

• Identify, follow up, and resolve all system safety issues and particular risks issues in support of the Continuing Airworthiness Process

• Participate in aircraft / system functional hazard analysis, fault tree analysis, system safety assessment, failure mode and effect analysis and the final R,M&S certification reports.

• The duties will also require certification activities involving co-ordination of technical issues and resolutions across all Bombardier, Supplier and Customer parties.

• Interact and present to Senior Management, Engineering Fellows and Certification Authorities and support complex or high visibility activities

• Champion ethical practices and policies, drive positive change and promote a culture of integrity, respect and inclusivity

• Share deep technical knowledge and guidance within the team, provide mentorship to professional and technical expert engineers

How to thrive in this role?

• You possess a Bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical, Electrical or Mechanical engineering with at least twenty (20)years relevant experience in the field of R,M&S.

• You have a strong electro-mechanical background, and an excellent understanding of aircraft performance characteristics, aircraft systems definition, integration, interfaces, component qualification, reliability and safety requirements and certification process of aircraft systems.

• You preferably have been directly involved in the aircraft definition and certification.

• Knowledge of creating Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEAs), Fault Tree Analysis (FTAs) and Safety Analysis is required.

• You must be very cognizant of the relevant Airworthiness Regulations, ARP 4754, and certification process.

• You have the ability to communicate sound technical proposals, influence solutions and outcomes, be a team player, a self-motivated individual and be able to work under pressure.

• You possess a strong sense of responsibility and integrity.

• You possess strong communication skills, verbal and written.

• You are familiar with a Microsoft 365 environment.
