Job summary

Bombardier in Canada is seeking a Technical Expert Senior in Engineering, Product Development and Bombardier Defense to shape strategy and talent initiatives. You will lead cross-site engineering strategies, manage budgets, and drive continuous improvement with a focus on AI-enabled solutions.

You will mentor teams, deliver training, and collaborate with Defense, Finance, HR and suppliers to enable exceptional outcomes while balancing strategic and detailed work.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Support the development and execution of engineering strategies across Bombardier sites.
• Plan and manage strategic engineering initiatives that improve effectiveness and capacity to meet current and future business needs.
• Lead the deployment of cross-functional budget management processes and tools to improve consistency and efficiency across Engineering.
• Communicate priorities, influence stakeholders, promote collaboration, and support decision-making with Engineering Community leaders, Defense, Finance, HR, and suppliers.
• Benchmark, propose, and implement innovative improvements to organizational effectiveness, processes, and tools, including AI-enabled solutions.
• Coach and mentor Strategy, Governance and Engineering Skills Management team members to support growth and strengthen organizational capability.
• Develop and deliver training and knowledge transfer for engineering teams, including Engineering Essentials and Fundamentals Training.
• Provide technical leadership to engineering professionals and technologists, ensuring quality execution and continuous improvement.

Technical Expert Senior, Engineering Strategic Initiatives

As part of the Strategy, Governance, Engineering Skills Management team and within the Engineering, Product Development and Bombardier Defense organization. You will be instrumental in achieving our mission: “Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy to ensure the Engineering organization attracts, retains, and optimizes top industry talent to achieve its objectives.”

How to thrive in this role?

• Bombardier experience and strong working knowledge of BES, with more than 20 years of relevant aerospace and engineering experience across varied assignments and projects.
• A bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, or equivalent.

• Hands-on experience leading problem-solving and Kaizen activities.
