Job summary

VERMILION ENERGY INC. is seeking a Contract Operator for our Drayton Valley, Alberta operations. You will operate, monitor and test oil and gas wells, ensuring compliance with Vermilion and regulatory guidelines. This contractor role offers exposure to production optimization and field data processes.

The 8 days on / 6 days off, 10-hour shifts schedule supports on-site work with extension potential; candidates must reside within 100 km of Drayton Valley and demonstrate strong safety performance.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of production operator experience.
• Valid driver’s licence with clean driving record.
• Formal safety training including First Aid/ CPR, H2S Alive.

• Inspect and adjust wells; perform routine maintenance for safe, efficient operations.
• Identify hazards and report/correct as required.
• Optimize and troubleshoot daily well production and balance data.

The Opportunity Are you an operator with oil and gas experience? Vermilion Energy has an exciting opportunity for a Contract Operator in our asset located in Drayton Valley, Alberta.

Reporting to the Area Foreman, you will operate, monitor, and test oil / gas wells as per Vermilion and regulatory guidelines and requirements. Using your proven success in your flexibility and adaptability to change, you will assist with operational and engineering strategies to optimize production.

What you will do

• Inspect and adjust assigned wells; provide routine maintenance to ensure safe and efficient operations
• Identify hazards and complete reporting and corrective action as required
• Optimize and troubleshoot daily well production; propose innovative strategies on how to improve well productivity
• Facilitate the daily production input and balancing of well data
• Test the measurement of gas, condensate / oil and water production on a daily basis

What you will bring

• 2+ years of relevant industry experience as a production operator
• Demonstrated commitment to health, safety, and environment expectations and requirements
• A valid driver’s licence and a clean driving record
• Formal operational and safety training including: First Aid / CPR, H2S Alive Software experience in field data capture (Prodview), and electronic flow measurement systems

Location and other Key Detail

You will work at our Drayton Valley, Alberta operations site

The shift schedule is a 8 days on / 6 days off rotation (10-hour shifts)

This position is safety sensitive

This is a contractor operator role with possibilities for extension

Must reside within a maximum of 100 km of the Drayton Valley area
