Job summary

A leading gas gathering and processing company in Alberta is looking for an Operator (Contractor) to join their team. You will ensure efficient operation of facilities while adhering to safety protocols and environmental regulations. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma and 3+ years of experience in the oil and gas industry. This role offers a contract with a 7 on/7 off shift structure.

Qualifications

  • Completion of all GPO (Gas Plant Operator) modules preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in an industrial or oil and gas facility preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Operate facilities ensuring adherence to procedures and guidelines.
  • Work closely with maintenance team to minimize operational downtime.
  • Follow plant safety practices and ensure a safe work environment.
  • Manage emissions and ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Optimize plant operations for efficiency and cost reduction.

What you’ll do:

Here is a sample for some of what your workdays may look like:

  • Efficiently operate at one of the 5x Peach Arch Operating facilities stretching from Dawson Creek to Spirit River, ensuring adherence to established procedures and guidelines to meet contract demands and corporate expectations for quality, safety, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Work closely with the maintenance team to complete assigned tasks, ensuring the reliability of plant systems and minimizing operational downtime.
  • Maintain the highest safety standards by following plant safety practices, complying with WHMIS, TDG, WCB regulations, and ensuring a safe work environment for all personnel.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental permits and regulations. Manage emissions and spills in the event of process upsets, taking proactive steps to minimize environmental impact.
  • Continuously optimize plant operations for maximum efficiency and cost reduction. Regularly assess and improve operational processes, while also performing minor maintenance tasks to support the plant's performance.

Comments:

The shift will be 7 on and 7 off with the potential to work nightshifts. The location of this job is within the Peace Arch Facilities.
