Job summary

City of Saint John is seeking an IT professional to administer and maintain the City’s website, web-based applications, data and enterprise systems. The role involves planning IT updates, configuring a range of applications, and guiding upgrades to ensure performance and security.

You will work with IT teams and vendors, document procedures, and participate in after-hours support on a rotation basis. Candidates should have strong Windows, SQL/Oracle and web tech skills.

Qualifications

• Strong working knowledge of Windows 10/11, productivity tools and data platforms.
• Experience with web interfaces, data integration and enterprise reporting tools.
• Proficiency in SQL/Oracle databases and basic scripting (PowerShell).
• Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices and data transfer interfaces.
• Ability to manage projects and communicate with vendors and teams.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement IT changes for city software, applications and databases.
• Configure parameters for IT applications and interfaces.
• Guide development, installation, maintenance and upgrades of websites, apps, databases, or servers.
• Develop IT policies and SOPs for website, applications, and data.
• Monitor security configurations and ensure compliance with policies.
• Troubleshoot and coordinate with vendors and IT staff to resolve issues.
• Document processes and maintain records as required.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to achieve objectives.
• Provide after-hours support on a rotation basis.
