Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain contractor tracking databases and performance metrics.
  • Lead contractor kickoff meetings, performance reviews, and quarterly business reviews.
  • Coordinate contractor assessments, compliance reviews, and scorecards.
  • Resolve issues with contractors and internal stakeholders while maintaining relationships.
  • Support contractor performance management across safety, quality, delivery, cost, and people metrics.
  • Assist with contract close-out, suspension, termination, and completion activities.

Schedule: Monday-Friday with occasional travel as required

Introduction

Brunel is currently seeking a Contracts Administrator III for a long-term contract opportunity with a leading energy sector client based in Cold Lake, Alberta. This role will serve as the key local interface between Procurement, Operations, and contractors, ensuring contracts are effectively managed throughout their lifecycle while supporting business objectives, contractor performance, cost control, and operational success.

This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive and detail-oriented professional who can confidently navigate contractor relationships, challenge processes when necessary, and maintain strong working partnerships across multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities
As the Contracts Administrator III, you will:
  • Act as the primary local liaison between Procurement, Operations, Business Lines, and contractors.
  • Support the administration and stewardship of service contracts throughout the entire contract lifecycle.
  • Ensure contractors operate in accordance with contractual terms, company requirements, and corporate controls.
  • Coordinate contract handovers between Procurement and internal business stakeholders.
  • Track contract milestones, expiry dates, renewals, and required actions to ensure continuity of service.
  • Monitor and communicate potential contract risks, cost impacts, opportunities, and performance concerns.
  • Support budgeting activities and help quantify incremental costs associated with contract changes or extensions.
  • Establish and maintain contractor tracking databases and performance metrics.
  • Lead and facilitate contractor kick-off meetings, performance review meetings, and quarterly business reviews.
  • Coordinate contractor assessments, compliance reviews, competency verification, and performance scorecards.
  • Work closely with contractors and internal stakeholders to resolve issues and maintain positive working relationships.
  • Support contractor performance management across safety, quality, delivery, cost, and people metrics.
  • Assist with contractor close-out, suspension, termination, and contract completion activities when required.
  • Build effective relationships with a variety of contractors, including Indigenous and local business partners.
  • Identify when escalation is required and effectively navigate business processes to achieve timely outcomes.

Required Qualifications
  • Strong understanding of contract administration principles and procurement processes.
  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple timelines, milestones, and contractual obligations.
  • Proven ability to work proactively and independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Confidence leading meetings and driving discussions with contractors and internal stakeholders.
  • Assertive and comfortable constructively challenging procurement teams or contractors when required.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and coordination abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and contract tracking/reporting systems.
  • Ability to build strong relationships while effectively managing performance expectations.
  • Must be local to the Cold Lake area or willing to work on-site full-time.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in contract administration, contractor management, procurement support, or supply chain functions.
  • Experience working within industrial, oil & gas, mining, energy, or manufacturing environments.
  • Knowledge of contractor performance management and KPI reporting.
  • Experience reviewing service contracts, contract terms and conditions, and commercial documentation.
  • Experience supporting contractor stewardship programs and performance reviews.
  • Exposure to Indigenous contractor engagement initiatives is considered an asset.
