Job summary

Vaco/Highspring is assisting a client in Aurora, Canada, to hire an Accounting Manager for a 12-month contract. Reporting to the Controller, you will oversee full-cycle accounting, month-end close, and reconciliation processes for a complex division, with 2-3 senior accountants as direct reports.

The role requires a CPA designation, 5+ years of progressive accounting experience (2+ in supervision), and strong US GAAP/IFRS knowledge.

Qualifications

• CPA designation in Accounting or Finance is required.
• Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting or finance experience.
• At least 2 years in a supervisory capacity.
• Experience with US GAAP and IFRS accounting standards.

Responsibilities

• Oversee full-cycle accounting and month-end close processes.
• Review journal entries and ensure GL accuracy.
• Prepare financial reporting, reconciliations, and ad hoc analyses.
• Act as liaison between divisional accountants and corporate controllers.
• Supervise 2-3 divisional accountants and mentor staff.
