Position : Continuous Improvement Specialist - Supply Chain and Operations

Summary

Reporting to the Vice-President of Supply Chain and Operations, the Continuous Improvement Specialist will serve as the onsite Lean Supply Chain and Operations expert . This individual will act as the design and change agent for the Parts Distribution facility and be the point of contact for and drive all facility & process improvement projects. The incumbent will have a broad knowledge of Lean, Kaizen, Six Sigma project management, and process improvement strategies that will be applied to have a direct impact on operational performance.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with developing and maintaining a disciplined continuous improvement program focusing on quality, customer service, and cost reduction.
  • Establish and maintain a continuous improvement framework and methodology.
  • Identify opportunities within the supply chain and operations for improvement.
  • Implement structured methodologies to turn opportunities into sustained results.
  • Identify root causes, evaluate and implement solutions, and measure results.
  • Drive process improvements, efficiencies, and cost reductions to improve profitability and service levels.
  • Lead employees and facilitate training and implementation of 5S, Kaizen events, suggestion programs, and other improvement practices.

Establish and lead the continuous improvement program :

  • Define structured methodology and provide training and coaching.
  • Develop a pipeline of CI projects and prioritize them.
  • Work with management to define and support project execution.
  • Ensure benefits are quantified and sustained.
  • Champion CI initiatives and organize 5S organization.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or Supply Chain Management.
  • 5-10 years of distribution / warehouse or supply chain experience.
  • Proven track record of implementing process changes resulting in operational savings.
  • Experience with Change Management methodology.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and warehouse management systems.
  • At least 4 years of experience in a high-volume distribution center.
