Responsibilities
This position coordinates flight test activities among multiple engineering disciplines in support of a wide range of F-16 related test programs. The individual should possess the ability to understand air vehicle system architecture, design, and subsystems integration, as well as mission systems avionics. The individual should also have the ability to lead and mentor junior engineers at varying levels of experience.
- Support the execution of flight test missions, briefings, and oversee teams of discipline engineers in Mission Control.
- Monitor performance parameters of experimental and operational systems during flights.
- Develop and review test plans, test points, and test cards.
- Provide engineering support for design reviews, test planning, and post-flight reports.
- Participate in and support test programs, including design reviews and liaising with test ranges.
- Review aircraft systems, subsystems, and components to ensure proper test plans and data collection.
- Work independently and in teams.
- Generate detailed post-flight reports.
Qualifications
The candidate should have a proven track record in planning, executing, and managing flight tests, with a passion for flight testing and being a team player.
- 2+ years of hands-on flight test experience (salary based on experience).
- Experience with fighter aircraft flight testing preferred.
- Test Pilot Graduate is a plus.
- Experience with Aero-Performance, Flight Envelope Expansion, Vehicle Subsystems, and Mission Systems is desired.
- Willingness to adapt to evolving roles and responsibilities.
- Experience in Electronic Warfare and RF/IR CM is desired.
- Previous aircrew experience (Pilot, EWO, NAV, etc.) is a plus.
- Experience with avionics, weapons, live fires, and sensors testing is beneficial.
- Private Pilot license is a plus but not required.
Travel
Travel required, estimated at 10%.
Education
BS in a technical field or equivalent experience.
Clearance
Active Secret or Top Secret clearance preferred; must qualify and maintain Top Secret clearance. U.S. citizenship required.
The pay range in California is $100,000 to $180,000 annually, depending on experience and other factors. Benefits include medical, financial, and other perks. Apply via MTSI's careers site.
