Job summary

Shannex is hiring a Casual (no guaranteed hours) Continu­ing Care Assistant (PSW) for Parkland Fredericton - Frederick Hall in Fredericton, NB. The role covers hygiene, daily living support, and collaboration with an interdisciplinary team to deliver individualized care plans.

The position requires a PSW diploma/certificate, valid CPR & First Aid, and the ability to work a flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends and holidays. English proficiency is essential; French is a plus.

Responsibilities

About The Opportunity

• Assists residents with hygiene and daily living activities, such as: bathing, dressing, oral care, skin care, meals, and mobilizing according to the work assignment;
• Collaborates with the resident and other members of the interdisciplinary team in the development of individualized Resident Care Plan;
• Assists in the planning and implementation of resident leisure activities on a daily basis;
• Assists with light housekeeping duties;
• Performs delegated nursing acts according to company policy and scope of practice;
• Communicates and reports relevant information regarding resident care or safety to Supervisor

About You

• A valid Personal Support Worker Acute Care diploma or Provincial Personal Care Worker course or equivalent;
• Ability to work a schedule of flexible hours and shifts inclusive of days, nights, weekends, and holidays;
• Availability to work a minimum of 6 shifts per quarter, available to work all shift types and days of the week;
• Ability to provide a clear criminal record with vulnerable sector screening upon hire;
• Valid CPR & First Aid Certification or BLS (required);
• Advanced proficiency in the English language is required, proficiency in French considered an asset;
• Alzheimer's and Dementia Care course considered an asset;
• Previous working experience with elderly in long-term care or a senior living environment an asset;
• A passion for the healthcare sector and/or ensuring seniors have access to quality accommodations, services and care
