Job summary

Desjardins Group is seeking a Section Manager for Contested Matters to lead a nationwide team handling complex claims. You will drive performance, coach staff, and collaborate with life and health claims teams to improve processes and client satisfaction.

The role emphasizes strategic decision-making, talent development, and operational excellence within a large North American financial group.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Minimum of six years of relevant experience, including two years in a management role.
• Experience in managing teams.
• Strong communication skills in both French and English.
• Knowledge of the legal field and the life and health insurance sector.

Responsibilities

• Manage, motivate and develop a team responsible for handling contested and complex claims nationwide.
• Take responsibility for team performance, results and skills development.
• Coach and guide team members in strategic decisions on highly complex claims.
• Work with life and health insurance claims teams to ensure efficient, consistent management of claims.
• Develop, implement and monitor the unit’s action plan aligned with organizational strategy.
