Riva is looking for a Content Marketing Manager that will devise and lead content marketing strategy for Riva’s thought leadership efforts and support content requirements for marketing and other internal teams (e.g. product marketing, digital marketing, sales enablement, etc).
WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?
Reporting to our Vice President of Marketing, the successful candidate will understand the imperative of building an emotional connection with customers through long form and short form content, and across email, web, ads, and social media platforms. We are seeking a collaborative, energized individual to drive our content marketing program to the next level. More specifically, your responsibilities will include:
Lead the development and refinement of content themes, personas, path to purchase, content derivative planning, and content distribution strategy
Build up internal knowledge and best practices around good documentation practices and ensure all content production is aligned to these
Develop a content audit and review process and ensure it is adhered to
Take ownership of each stage of the content development process, from ideation to final delivery
Identify and advise on content ideas and recommendations through the content development process
Manage the content ideation process, content pitches, and editorial calendar
Write exceptional content as part of a cross-functional marketing team for a variety of stakeholders and audiences
Interpret technical information and translate into content that is accessible to a business audience while maintaining accuracy
Create emotional connections between our brand and our customers through powerful storytelling
Collaborate with the Marketing team, other departments, subject matter experts, and external stakeholders to research and write content
Support to the Sales team on sales enablement initiatives such as proposals, follow up with potential and current customers, presentations and other marketing materials as needed
Achieve established goals and leverage defined KPIs to determine the effectiveness of content assets
Review content KPIs and develop recommendations for improvements
Research, monitor, and stay informed on topics and current business issues related to Riva’s products and clients, and present new content ideas or refresh content in response to market changes
Research and leverage new content marketing tactics and strategies
Assist in developing and ensuring consistent application of the content development and quality assurance processes
Develop and enforce Riva’s corporate brand style guide and voice, including consistency of tone in writing styles by channel and audience
Ensure consistency in messaging and branding throughout content and communications channels
Work with and manage external service providers, such as agencies and freelance writers, as required

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE?
5+ years of proven experience performing a similar function in enterprise B2B SaaS content marketing or communications—with clear ownership of strategy through to delivery
Experience working in a similar role in a highly regulated complex industry such as financial services, life sciences, medical device, security and defence, or energy
A post-secondary education in Communications, Journalism, English, Commerce, Business Administration, Marketing or a related field
You possess expert level understanding of a content marketing program, how it evolves over time, and how to manage distribution, syndication, and relevance
You have exceptional English language verbal and written communications skills and equally impressive project management skills
Exceptional writing, proofreading, and editing skills, with strong attention to detail
Ability to create content in a fast-paced environment to respond to changes in the market
Experience generating a high volume of content while managing tight deadlines
Experience working closely with Sales teams to respond to requests for proposals and for sales enablement support—providing recommendations to support increasing sales velocity at each pipeline stage
You are a problem solver who brings fresh, original thinking to company and customer problems
The ability to write for a variety of channels, leveraging key messaging, and determining style and tone to speak to different audience including customers, partners, media, investors, and employees
Advanced knowledge of digital content writing best practices (web, social, email, etc) and search engine optimization (SEO)
You possess a high degree of emotional intelligence, with the ability to be an effective team-player in a cross-functional environment
Experience across marketing functions with a solid understanding of how they work together to drive revenue generation and nurturing
The ability to work and thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly changing, ambiguous work environment
The ability to work remotely while still driving results across the business and teams
*An equivalent combination of education and experience, which results in a demonstrated ability to apply skills, will also be considered
Experience working in an agency environment is an asset
Experience with Digital Asset Management systems is an asset
Experience in public and investor relations is an asset
Ability to write in a second language is an asset
