Job summary

The Mason Group - Strategic Search Partners seeks an experienced CPA Consultant to own the accounting function and work with executive leadership. This hands-on role builds processes, manages financial reporting, and supports strategic initiatives in a fast-growing clean-energy technology company.

Responsibilities include month-end close, external audits, cap table administration, and collaboration with the CFO on technical accounting and capital raises.

Qualifications

• CPA/CA designation is preferred.
• Experience with cap tables and equity transactions.
• Experience presenting to executive leadership.
• Public company reporting experience is required.
• Ability to operate independently in a fast-growing environment.

Responsibilities

• Own the accounting and financial reporting function.

• Lead and coordinate the external audit process, including auditor communications and supporting documentation.
• Maintain and administer the company's cap table and equity-related records.
• Support accounting and reporting requirements related to capital raises and public-company readiness.
• Develop and enhance accounting policies, controls, and financial processes.
• Partner closely with the CFO on financial reporting, technical accounting, and strategic initiatives.
• Provide hands-on support across all areas of accounting as needed.
• Collaborate with a lean finance team in a fast-paced growth environment.

We are partnering with an innovative and rapidly growing clean-energy technology company that is scaling its operations, supporting capital-raising initiatives, and preparing for its next stage of growth.

As a result, we are seeking an experienced CPA Consultant who can take ownership of the accounting function and work closely with executive leadership. This is a hands-on role that will suit someone who enjoys building processes, managing financial reporting, and contributing to strategic initiatives in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the accounting and financial reporting function
• Manage and execute month-end close and financial reporting processes
• Lead and coordinate the external audit process, including auditor communications and supporting documentation
• Maintain and administer the company's cap table and equity-related records
• Support accounting and reporting requirements related to capital raises and public-company readiness
• Develop and enhance accounting policies, controls, and financial processes
• Partner closely with the CFO on financial reporting, technical accounting, and strategic initiatives

Qualifications & Experience:

• Strong Controller-level or full-cycle controllership experience
• Previous public company accounting experience
• Experience with financial reporting and technical accounting
• Strong external audit management experience
• Exposure to U.S. reporting or U.S. public company environments is considered a strong asset
• Experience with cap tables, equity transactions, stock options, or capital raises is highly desirable
• Comfortable operating independently within an evolving and entrepreneurial organization
• Willing to roll up your sleeves and handle both strategic and day-to-day accounting responsibilities
