Job summary

Canadian Accounting Consultants [CPA Recruitment] is recruiting on behalf of a recognizable Canadian brand for a newly created group accounting role supporting a new business line. The position offers a hybrid work arrangement and a collaborative finance culture.

The successful candidate is a recently designated CPA who takes ownership of core accounting functions, with IFRS knowledge and ERP familiarity, and who can partner with cross-functional teams on month-, quarter-, and year-end closes.

Qualifications

• CPA designation required and experience supporting complex accounting functions.
• Strong IFRS knowledge and familiarity with ERP systems.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
• Self-starter with strong organizational and prioritization skills.

Responsibilities

• Build and document accounting processes, controls, and reconciliations for a new business line.
• Help design scalable controls and monitoring procedures as volume grows.
• Prepare and review reconciliations, flag risks, and recommend fixes.
• Support financial analysis, audits, and strategic projects.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to align financial processes and reporting.
• Handle month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities.
• Prepare complex entries with proper documentation for compliance.

Key responsibilities and oversight:

• Build and document accounting processes, controls, and reconciliations from the ground up for a new business line
• Help design scalable controls and monitoring procedures as transaction volume grows
• Prepare and review reconciliations, flagging risks and recommending fixes
• Support financial analysis, audits, and other strategic projects as they arise
• Partner with cross-functional teams to keep financial processes and reporting aligned
• Handle month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities
• Prepare complex entries with proper documentation for compliance

The successful candidate will possess the following:

• CPA designation with experience supporting complex accounting functions.
• Strong IFRS knowledge, ERP familiarity.
• Qualified accountant from a major public accounting firm
• Excellent communication skills and ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
• Self-starter attitude with strong organizational and prioritization skills.
