Job summary

Louis W Bray Construction is seeking a Yard and Shop Worker to join our winning team and support the completion of Heavy Civil Construction projects throughout the Ottawa area.

You will promote safety, operate forklifts and other equipment, load and unload materials, and keep the yard and shop organized while assisting with equipment repairs as needed. A valid license and ability to lift 50 lbs are required.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid driver's license.
• Physically demanding work; ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Practical knowledge of construction equipment's function, operation and maintenance.
• Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
• Experience operating a Telehandler and Forklift.
• Experience towing trailers and securing loads.
• Experience operating a 3-ton flatbed truck.
• Forklift Operator certification (preferred).
• Multitasking and problem solving are required.

Responsibilities

• Promote safety, quality and reliability in all activities of the construction team.
• Operate forklifts and other construction equipment.
• Load and unload floats and trailers.
• Pick up and deliver material tools and equipment to various job sites and vendors.
• Maintain lifting devices and shop tools.
• Keep yard and shop clean and organized.
• Assist with equipment repairs as needed.
• All other related duties as required.

Duties and Responsibilities

• To promote safety, quality and reliability in all activities conducted by the construction team.
• Operate forklifts and other construction equipment.
• Load and unload floats and trailers,
• Pick up and deliver material tools and equipment to various job sites and vendors.
• Maintain Lifting devices and shop tools.
• Keep yard and Shop clean and organized.
• Assist with Equipment Repairs as needed.
• All other related duties as required.

Required Skills and Qualifications
