Job summary

Brandt is seeking a Labourer at our Hearst Construction & Forestry location. The successful candidate will assist in dismantling heavy equipment and components used in construction, forestry and mining, and help keep the yard clean and organized.

The role requires physical endurance, the ability to follow instructions, and a mechanical aptitude. Forklift experience is an asset, and safety is a top priority in this hands-on environment.

Qualifications

• Capable of meeting the physical demands of the heavy duty equipment environment (lifting up to 75 pounds).
• Must be capable of working under minimal supervision.
• Demonstrate safe and efficient workplace practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Dismantle construction, forestry and mining based heavy equipment and components.
• Clean parts and components and keep the yard organized.
• Assist other shop personnel to improve overall shop productivity.
• Perform inventory maintenance as required.

What You Will Be Responsible For

• Cleaning parts and components
• Cleaning and organizing the yard
• Some inventory maintenance.
• Assisting the other shop personnel fulfill their duties and increase overall shop productivity

• Capable of meeting the physical demands of the heavy duty equipment environment (ie: lifting up to 75 pounds)
• Must be capable of working under minimal supervision
• Previous mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn required
• Forklift experience and heavy duty parts handling considered an asset
• Demonstrate safe and efficient workplace practices
• Highly motivated, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Able to carry out and understand verbal and written instructions
• Strong attention to detail
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
