Prodigy Group is seeking an experienced Site Superintendent to oversee a high-profile project in Halifax, Nova Scotia. The role requires mobilization for a short-term assignment with travel and accommodations arranged for non-local candidates.

Ideal candidates bring multiple years as site supers on commercial, industrial, or institutional builds, strong coordination of trades, and experience guiding projects through closeout phases. Immediate start available.

Qualifications

• Several years of experience as a Site Superintendent on commercial, industrial, or institutional projects.
• Experience advancing a project through final stages and closeout.
• Strong ability to coordinate trades and manage schedules.
• Experience with warehouse/industrial or site services projects preferred.
• Proficiency with field tech tools such as Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee day-to-day site activities, trades coordination, and deliveries.
• Maintain a safe, organized site in line with health and safety policies.
• Conduct regular inspections, identify hazards, and address corrective actions.
• Track progress against schedule and liaise with project team.
• Ensure work complies with drawings, specs, quality standards, and requirements.
• Coordinate inspections, deficiencies, closeout, and turnover activities.
• Maintain daily site documentation and provide progress updates.

Prodigy is looking for an experienced Site Superintendent to join us immediately in Halifax, Nova Scotia to help bring a high profile project through to completion.

We welcome applications from experienced and qualified Site Superintendents across Canada. For candidates located outside of Halifax, Prodigy will provide travel and accommodations for the duration of the assignment, including return travel home every four weeks.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced Superintendent who is available immediately and interested in a short term assignment. We are open to individuals looking to join Prodigy on a fixed term basis, as well as experienced construction professionals who operate their own company and are interested in working with us independently.

As a Site Superintendent, you’ll be responsible for:

• Lead and oversee day to day site activities, coordinating trades, subcontractors, deliveries, and site logistics.
• Maintain a safe and organized job site, ensuring compliance with Prodigy’s Health and Safety policies and applicable regulations.
• Conduct regular site inspections, identify potential hazards, and ensure safety concerns and corrective actions are addressed promptly.
• Monitor project progress against the schedule and work closely with the project team to resolve issues and keep work moving toward completion.
• Ensure work is completed in accordance with drawings, specifications, quality standards, and project requirements.
• Coordinate inspections, deficiencies, closeout activities, and project turnover requirements.
• Maintain accurate daily site documentation and provide regular progress updates to the project team.

About You:

The successful candidate will have the following:

• Several years of experience as a Site Superintendent on commercial, industrial, or institutional construction projects
• Experience taking an active construction project through the final stages of construction and closeout
• Strong experience coordinating multiple trades and managing construction schedules
• Experience with warehouse, industrial, civil, site servicing, or parking lot projects is preferred.
• Experience using technology in the field - working knowledge of Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, etc.
• Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, sequencing, and site safety
• Ability to step into an active project, quickly understand the outstanding scope, and take ownership of site operations
• Strong communication, organization, and problem solving skills
• Available to start as soon as possible and remain on the project through completion
