Job summary

Lever, Inc. is seeking a Construction Safety Officer in Canada to lead field safety efforts on commercial construction sites.

You will implement Health, Safety, and Environmental programs, work with project teams, and promote a proactive safety culture through inspections, training, and coaching. The role focuses on preventing incidents, supporting incident investigations, and ensuring proper documentation.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of Health, Safety, and Environmental experience in commercial construction
• Experience with high-rise towers and institutional projects preferred
• BC Construction Safety Officer (CSO) or National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) designation
• OFA Level 3 certification required
• CRSP designation or other HSE credential is an asset
• Strong knowledge of local/provincial HSE regulations and practices
• Proficient MS Office suite and documentation management
• Proven ability to influence teams and foster safety culture

Responsibilities

• Verify effective HSE standards across construction sites under supervision
• Conduct regular site inspections for hazards and compliance
• Identify corrective actions for non-compliance and support resolution
• Provide safety education and coaching to supervisors and subcontractors
• Support incident investigations with project teams and contractors
• Organize and distribute HSE documentation and records
• Review reports and safety statistics to identify trends
• Collaborate on project-specific safety plans and JHAs
• Advise on interpretation of local and provincial HSE regulations
• Support safety objectives and field presence to promote culture
