Daily Responsibilities as a Construction Project Manager
- Understand technical parameters, execution strategy, and procurement of bids.
- Participate in project kickoff meetings with all internal stakeholders.
- Act as the main contact ensuring effective communication with clients and stakeholders.
- Plan material purchases, releases, and produce comprehensive purchase orders.
- Plan, control, and supervise project execution phases and milestones.
- Ensure rigorous cost control of projects.
- Conduct daily follow-ups with site foremen.
- Support foremen to meet productivity targets.
- Produce amendments for work outside the original scope promptly.
- Generate payment requests and progress statements, and ensure invoice issuance.
- Calculate project profitability based on progress and costs.
- Monitor production and collection of payment requests.
- Ensure timely collection of contractual holdbacks.
- Enforce project control, quality, health, and safety standards.
- Regular site inspections and monitoring.
- Attend project monitoring meetings.
- Collaborate on weekly resource planning.
- Document and archive site information securely.
- Ensure compliance with processes like timesheets and purchase orders.
Candidate Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience in project management within commercial and institutional construction sectors.
- Degree in Construction or Civil Engineering, Architecture, or equivalent experience/training.
- Deep knowledge of production management principles and sector improvements.
- Excellent communication skills in English and French, written and spoken.
- Strong organizational skills, rigor, multitasking, and autonomy.
- Leadership qualities to motivate teams and unify efforts.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and allocate resources effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Project Management tools.
- Willingness to travel (valid driver’s license and vehicle required).
