Job summary

Aecon Group Inc. is seeking a Project Accountant to ensure proper billing, tracking, analysis, and forecasting of project costs for the Darlington New Nuclear Project in Ontario. You will provide job costing information to project management and collaborate with multiple finance functions.

Reporting to the Project Accounting Supervisor, you will review cost reports, prepare month-end entries, and support quarterly forecasts and annual budgets. Strong analytical skills and CPA pursuit are valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or Accounting.
• 3+ years of experience, pursuing CPA designation or equivalent is valued.
• Experience in construction or related industry is preferred.
• Progressive experience that indicates strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Work with Project or Operations Management to identify and forecast financial exposures.
• Prepare financial reports with project staff, accounts receivable/payable, purchasing, estimating, and finance.
• Review cost reports to verify budgets, planned vs. actual costs, ECAC, contracts and subcontracts.
