Job summary

The Gardener Etobicoke is hiring Landscaping and Snow Removal Labourers to assist through a busy fall season and upcoming winter months. This is a permanent full-time position with intentions of keeping employees for spring and summer seasons.

You will be involved in landscape maintenance, autumnal preparations, and snow clearance to keep properties pristine and functional. Roles provide opportunities to develop horticulture, landscape maintenance, and construction skills while working outdoors

Qualifications

• Experience with landscape maintenance tasks including gardening and yard care.
• Mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting and maintaining small machinery and power tools.
• Ability to operate hand tools safely and efficiently in outdoor environments.
• Strong work ethic and ability to follow instructions independently or in a team.
• Familiarity with customer service in on-site discussions.
• G-Class License and experience operating trailers are assets but not a requirement.

Responsibilities

• Perform landscape maintenance tasks such as mowing, edging, pruning, planting, and mulching.
• Operate hand tools, power tools, and small machinery safely and efficiently.
• Conduct snow removal using shovels, snow blowers, plows, or other equipment.
• Support construction activities related to landscape projects, including site preparation and material handling.
• Perform routine maintenance on tools and equipment to ensure operation and safety standards.
• Collaborate with team members to complete projects on time while following safety protocols.

In this role, you will be actively involved in landscape maintenance, autumnal preparations, and performing snow clearance to keep properties pristine and functional. Duties

• Perform landscape maintenance tasks including mowing, edging, pruning, planting, and mulching to enhance curb appeal and plant health
• Operate hand tools, power tools, and small machinery such as trimmers, blowers, and lawnmowers safely and efficiently
• Conduct snow removal using shovels, snow blowers, plows, or other equipment to maintain safe walkways and driveways during winter months
• Support construction activities related to landscape projects, including site preparation and material handling
• Perform routine maintenance on tools and equipment to ensure optimal operation and safety standards are met
• Collaborate with team members to complete projects on time while adhering to safety protocols

Seasonal Expectations

• Unpredictable work schedule due to high likelihood of inclement weather (abnormal shift hours, evenings, and weekends)
• Summer: Consistent work schedule (maintenance programs begin which are based on a normal work day calendar)
• Fall: Unpredictable work schedule due to high likelihood of inclement weather (abnormal shift hours, evenings, and weekends)
• Winter: Stand-by schedule (employees paid to be "on call" for snowfalls and expected to be available 24/7 - including evenings, weekends, and holidays)
