Job summary

Kiewit’s Calgary District Office is seeking a Contracts & Supply Chain Specialist to oversee procurement and subcontractor management on North American construction projects. You will lead purchase activities for engineered equipment, services and materials, negotiate terms, and work with engineering, estimating and site teams to minimize risk while ensuring compliance with client specifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, construction management, engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum of 5+ years' experience in engineering and/or construction or related field.
• Experience in vendor and subcontractor management, including evaluation, selection, performance management, and contract closeout.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word) with general knowledge of database utilization. SAP experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and plan all aspects of purchasing from pre-bid to closeout.
• Represent company in negotiating contracts and formulating policies with suppliers, subcontractors and professional service providers.
• Negotiate commercial terms and conditions with equipment vendors, material vendors, professional service providers and subcontractors; consult with corporate attorneys and senior management to minimize project and corporate risk while maintaining commercial competitiveness.
• Monitor and oversee execution of the purchasing buyout.
• Direct and coordinate activities of personnel engaged in buying and/or estimating materials, equipment, subcontract and professional services.
