The Constituency Assistant position in the office of Ellis Ross, Member of Parliament for Skeena – Bulkley Valley, supports communications, organizes correspondence, and serves as the first contact for constituents. Job Description

The office of Ellis Ross, Member of Parliament for Skeena – Bulkley Valley is currently seeking a qualified candidate to fill the Constituency Assistant position.

About the role:

In this role, you will support the smooth operation of the constituency office by assisting with the Member’s communications, organizing and prioritizing correspondence, and serving as the first point of contact for constituents.

Working closely with the Member of Parliament, you will provide a combination of administrative and client service supports, including answering calls, greeting visitors, responding to emails, managing client casework, and assisting with data entry and filing. In this role, you will contribute to a team where your work will help strengthen the office’s service and outreach to help deliver meaningful support to the community.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Acts as the first line of response with constituents for all incoming cases (e.g. immigration, Canada Revenue and Old Age Security files) and provides information, advice and support in person, over the telephone and in writing.
  • Drafts responses to constituent emails and letters, including on constituency casework issues.
  • Provides various administrative services to the Member’s office and ensures the flow of operations.

Qualifications

Education:
