Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a college or university program relevant to engineering, reliability, or related discipline.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in collecting and analyzing condition monitoring data (vibration, temp, oil).
  • Support operation and maintenance of CBM equipment and sensors.
  • Help interpret CBM data to identify issues and trends.
  • Contribute to predictive maintenance plans based on data.
  • Collaborate with Reliability team to integrate CBM findings into maintenance strategies.
  • Document inspection results and present findings to the Reliability Manager.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for equipment reliability.

Position Summary

Thales has a vacancy for a Condition-Based Monitoring Co-op/Intern. As a Condition-Based Monitoring Co-Op/Intern, you will be a proactive and motivated individual within the Reliability team focusing on equipment condition monitoring activities and help enhance predictive maintenance strategies through data analysis and monitoring technologies. This role offers practical exposure to advanced reliability and maintenance practices in a collaborative engineering environment.

Regulatory Compliance Requirement

This position requires direct or indirect access to hardware, software or technical information controlled under the Canadian Export Control List and/or the US the Export Administration Regulations (EAR). All applicants must be eligible or able to obtain authorization for such access

Key Areas of Responsibility
  • Assist in the collection and analysis of condition monitoring data (e.g., vibration, temperature, oil analysis).
  • Support the operation and maintenance of condition monitoring equipment and sensors.
  • Help interpret CBM data to identify potential equipment issues and deterioration trends.
  • Participate in the development and refinement of predictive maintenance plans based on condition data.
  • Collaborate with the Reliability team and other departments to integrate CBM findings into maintenance strategies.
  • Document inspection results, prepare reports, and present findings to the Reliability Manager and team.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to equipment reliability and monitoring processes.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in a relevant college or university program (e.g., Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Reliability Engineering, or related discipline).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork capabilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently with guidance.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to accuracy.
  • Prior knowledge or coursework related to reliability engineering or condition-based monitoring is an asset.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience working with a defense contract.
  • Experience supporting an operational military asset.
  • Experience working in or developing Jira Kanban boards.
  • Experience with MS SharePoint.
  • Experience with gathering data using Google and AI tools.
  • Basic understanding of reliability engineering concepts is an asset.
Special Position Requirements

Schedule: 40 hours per week

Physical Environment: Office

Travel: Occasional domestic or international travel may be required, which will include access to government facilities and assets.

Pay Transparency

The anticipated Total Target Compensation (TTC), inclusive of annual salary and bonus eligibility, for this role is $48,000 to 60,000 CAD Annual . The Company reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant’s status protected by local, provincial, and federal laws.
