Job summary

EllisDon is seeking a Concrete & Formwork Superintendent to lead on-site activities for complex projects. You will ensure drawings and specifications are followed, plan schedules, manage manpower and materials, and monitor safety and performance to keep the project on track.

The role requires a construction degree/diploma with 10+ years of experience in concrete/formwork, plus knowledge of scheduling, project management, and contract software.

Qualifications

• Construction degree/diploma with 10+ years of experience in special projects, institutional, commercial, or industrial fields.
• Experience with concrete & formwork scopes.
• Experience with self-performed work with a General Contractor is an asset.
• Knowledge of scheduling, project management, and contract software.

Responsibilities

• On-site management ensuring compliance with drawings and specifications.
• Plan and implement schedules, determine manpower, materials, inspections, equipment.
• Monitor work performance and safety compliance.
• Identify problems and develop workable solutions in a team.
• Maintain and analyze cost reports to keep project within budget.
• Communicate with Owners, Consultants and Architects professionally.

You as a Concrete & Formwork Superintendent will:

• Managing work on site to ensure the compliance of construction with the drawings and specifications
• Planning and implementing schedules, determining manpower levels, material quantities, inspections, equipment and requirements are maintained
• Monitor work performance to ensure project rules, procedures, and safety requirements are being followed
• Manage potential problems, work interference and schedule difficulties and assist in resolving these problems
• Maintain and analyze up-to-date cost reports and submit necessary changes to ensure the project is delivered within budget
• Meet with Owners, Consultants and Architects in a professional manner and have the ability to communicate effectively both the concerns and best interests of the company

Is this the right role for you?

• You have a construction related degree/diploma with 10+ years of construction experience within Special Projects, Institutional, Commercial, and/or Industrial projects or an equivalent combination of technical training and experience
• Experience with concrete & formwork scopes
• Experience with self-performed work with a General Contractor is an asset
• Working knowledge of scheduling, project management and contract software
• Ability to correctly identify problem situations, evaluate alternative causes and produce workable solutions in a team environment
