Job summary

EllisDon Corporation is seeking a Superintendent to provide overall construction management on heavy civil projects in Canada, coordinating with the Project Manager, subcontractors, owners, engineers and architects. The role requires 3–5 years of heavy civil experience, a construction degree, and proficiency in scheduling and project management software.

You will lead meetings, anticipate problems, and drive safety and quality on site.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of Heavy Civil experience on roads, bridges, earthworks, or similar projects.
• Construction related degree/diploma and five to eight years of construction experience or an equivalent combination of technical training and experience.
• Working knowledge of scheduling, project management and contract software.
• Ability to quickly identify problems, evaluate alternatives and lead a large team to completion.

Responsibilities

• Provide overall construction management including design, budget and schedule with Project Manager, Subcontractors, Owners, Engineers and Architects.
• Manage work on site to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications and safety regulations.
• Plan and implement schedules, determine manpower levels and material quantities, ensure proper equipment and trades are available as required.
• Lead project meetings with internal and external parties to monitor and support the team’s progression.
• Advise Project Manager and senior management of potential problems and assist in resolving them.

You have 3-5 years of Heavy Civil experience working on roads, bridges, earthworks, or similar projects.

You have a construction related degree/diploma and five to eight years of construction experience or an equivalent combination of technical training and experience

You have a working knowledge of scheduling, project management and contract software

You have the ability to quickly identify problem situations, evaluate alternative causes and produce workable solutions and lead a large team to successful completion

The salary range for this role is $100,000 - $135,000
