Job summary

Bareta Constructions Ltd. is seeking a construction laborer to support sidewalk, curb, and building site operations in Alberta. The role involves preparing sites, handling materials, and assisting skilled trades on site.

You will work outdoors in dusty and noisy environments, primarily at commercial, industrial, and residential sites. On-site only; physical work; reading blueprints may be required.

Qualifications

• Secondary school graduation certificate.
• Experience in construction is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Check formwork, granular base and steel reinforcement materials.
• Direct placement of concrete into forms or onto surfaces according to grade.
• Fill hollows and remove spots on freshly poured cement.
• Operate power vibrators to compact concrete.
• Level top surface concrete according to grade and depth specification.
• Impart desired finish to concrete surfaces using hand and power tools.
• Install anchor bolts, steel plates, door sills and other fixtures.
• Apply hardening and sealing components to cure surfaces.
• Repair, resurface and replace worn or damaged sections of concrete structures.
• Estimate costs and materials.
• Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications.
