Job summary

Comet Contracting Ltd in Greater Sudbury area is seeking a dependable concrete laborer to join our on-site crews. You will load, place, finish and cure concrete, and help with formwork, rebar and surface sealing at various locations.

The role requires 1–2 years of experience, ability to work outdoors in dust-prone environments, and a willingness to relocate to project sites. Work is performed on-site with no remote option, at multiple local locations.

Qualifications

• Experience in concrete work or construction preferred (1–2 years).
• Education at College/CEGEP level or similar required.

Responsibilities

• Check formwork, granular base and steel reinforcement materials
• Direct placement of concrete into forms or onto surfaces according to grade
• Fill hollows and remove spots on freshly poured cement
• Operate power vibrators to compact concrete
• Level top surface concrete according to grade and depth specification
• Impart desired finish to concrete surfaces using hand and power tools
• Install anchor bolts, steel plates, door sills and other fixtures
• Apply hardening and sealing components to cure surfaces
• Waterproof, damp proof and restore surfaces
• Repair, resurface and replace worn or damaged sections of concrete structures
