Job summary

Clark Builders in Red Deer, AB, is seeking Concrete Finishers to place and finish floors, slabs, columns and walls to exact specifications. This hands-on role requires working outdoors in varying weather and coordinating with crew to meet project deadlines.

You will help apply architectural and broomed finishes, ensure proper curing, and maintain site safety. Apprenticeship training or Journeyperson status is preferred, with competitive wages and benefits.

Qualifications

• Apprenticeship level 1st–4th year or Journeyperson status.
• Experience in commercial/industrial construction is an asset.
• Certifications (first aid, fall protection, CSTS 2020, WHMIS 2015) are an asset.

Responsibilities

• Place and finish concrete to specifications.
• Level surfaces, trim joints, and finish edges.
• Apply finishes: architectural, stamped, broomed, or smooth.

Position Description

Clark Builders is hiring Concrete Finishers to work in Red Deer, AB. This role will be responsible for placing and finishing concrete floors, slabs, columns, walls and other concrete structures to required specifications.

Reporting to

Foreman or Superintendent

Duties And Responsibilities

• Place wet concrete into forms and spread it to a specified depth.
• Level and smooth the surface of the concrete, round the edges and make joints or grooves to help control cracking on the surface.
• Apply architectural, exposed, patterned, stamped, broomed or smooth finishes.
• Use dry pack grouting and epoxy materials as needed and ensure concrete cures correctly.
• Planning sequences and methods of work.
• Maintaining a clean construction site.
• Execute work with minimal supervision while working alongside a team and other sub-trades to complete projects.
• Perform other construction related duties as assigned.
• Represent Clark Builders in a professional and respectful manner.
• Adhere to Clark Builders policies and procedures.

Skills And Knowledge

• The physical ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs., as well as performing repetitive motions, bending, crouching and/or kneeling for long periods throughout the day.
• The capability to work outside in extreme weather conditions depending on the season.
• The ability to work long hours while completing repetitive tasks.
• 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th year Apprenticeship training or Journeyperson certificate.

Qualifications

• Experience working in commercial/industrial construction is considered an asset.
• Valid first aid certificate an asset.
• Valid ESC Fall Protection, CSTS 2020 and WHMIS 2015 is an asset.
