Job summary

AVL Construction Group Inc. in Drummond Parish, NB is seeking a skilled concrete finisher. The role requires 1 year to less than 2 years of experience and the ability to work on site at heights, in dusty and noisy environments.

You will fill hollows, vibrate and level poured concrete, read blueprints, and supervise apprentices. Strong attention to detail and teamwork are essential, as is flexibility for outdoor work in various weather conditions.

Qualifications

• 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in construction or finishing.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications.
• On-site work at heights and outdoors in varying weather.

Responsibilities

• Fill hollows and remove spots on freshly poured cement
• Operate power vibrators to compact concrete
• Level top surface concrete according to grade and depth specification
• Work at heights, on scaffolding or swing stages
• Instruct apprentices
• Install anchor bolts, steel plates, door sills and other fixtures
• Apply hardening and sealing components to cure surfaces
• Waterproof, damp proof and restore surfaces
• Repair, resurface and replace worn or damaged sections of concrete structures
• Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications
