Job summary

F/LIST CANADA, a design-focused interiors company in Laval, Canada, seeks an experienced accountant to manage monthly, quarterly and annual reporting, general ledger activities, and cross-border finance matters. The role supports tax reporting and audits in a dynamic, multi-currency environment and collaborates with our Austrian HQ and global subsidiaries.

The successful candidate will leverage advanced Excel and ERP experience, ensuring compliance with Canadian and U.S.

Qualifications

• 3–6 years of progressive accounting and finance experience.
• Knowledge of Canadian and/or U.S. accounting principles.
• Knowledge of Canadian and/or U.S. tax requirements.
• Strong English communication skills.
• Advanced Excel and ERP experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting and reconciliations.
• Maintain general ledger accounting activities and ensure transactions recorded per standards.
• Lead month-end and year-end close and financial analysis.
• Coordinate GST/HST, QST, and U.S. sales tax compliance.
• Support corporate tax reporting and liaise with external tax advisors.
• Coordinate internal and external audits and strengthen internal controls across currencies.

As part of our team you will...

• Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting and account reconciliations.
• Maintain oversight of general ledger accounting activities and ensure financial transactions are accurately recorded, reviewed, and booked in accordance with Canadian and/or U.S. accounting standards, company policies, and reporting requirements.
• Ensure compliance with Canadian and/or U.S. accounting standards and reporting requirements.
• Lead month-end and year-end close activities and financial analysis.
• Manage GST/HST, QST, and/or U.S. sales tax and other indirect tax compliance requirements.
• Support corporate tax reporting and coordinate with external tax advisors.
• Provide guidance on cross-border transactions and multi-entity accounting matters.
• Coordinate internal and external audits and maintain required documentation.
• Strengthen internal controls and finance processes in a multi-currency environment (USD/EUR/CAD).

You're a good fit if you....

• Have 3-6 years of progressive accounting and finance experience.
• Possess strong knowledge of Canadian and/or U.S. accounting principles and regulations.
• Have working knowledge of Canadian and/or U.S. tax requirements.
• Understand legal and contractual concepts affecting finance and compliance.
• Have advanced Excel and ERP system experience.
• Demonstrate strong analytical, organizational and communication skills.
• Due to our international business environment and close collaboration with our headquarters in Austria and subsidiaries worldwide, strong English communication skills are required.
