  • Review schematics and datasheets to assess component compatibility and performance within existing circuits.
  • Develop and execute bench tests using oscilloscopes, power supplies, and multimeters.
  • Work with procurement to assess sourcing options and determine appropriate technical solutions.
  • Prepare validation summaries, process approved parts through PDM systems, and coordinate Engineering Change Orders (ECOs).
  • Identify potential safety and regulatory certification impacts and elevate issues requiring additional engineering support.
  • Maintain component risk trackers and provide clear progress updates to stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
  • Degree or diploma in Electrical or Electronics Engineering.
  • At least 3 years of hands‑on experience in hardware design, sustaining engineering, or component engineering.

  • Hands‑on proficiency in bench testing, test setup development, and circuit debugging.
  • Sound engineering judgment when assessing component substitutions and performance risks.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple component approvals independently.
  • Ability to work onsite in Saanichton, BC.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with component obsolescence, end‑of‑life management, and second‑sourcing.
  • Familiarity with formal ECO processes and PDM/PLM systems.
  • Background in power electronics or mixed‑signal design.
  • Understanding of UL/CSA safety certifications and how component substitutions may affect compliance.
  • Familiarity with EDA tools.
