Job description

The Compliance Manager ensures that all company policies, procedures, and operational practices align with regulatory requirements and industry standards. This role is responsible for auditing adherence to policies, overseeing compliance-related processes, and collaborating with other departments to mitigate legal and regulatory risks.

Key Responsibilities

Legal Research

  • Research banking, credit card and payment processing regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Research international privacy regulations and policies with an eye toward identifying compliance requirements.
  • Research and evaluate industry-specific compliance requirements.

Policy Development

  • Create clear, concise documentation of policies and procedures that ensure full compliance with applicable regulations. Implement them across the org.
  • Work closely with the Head of Legal to assess and refine compliance policies.
  • Foster and maintain point of contact with regulatory bodies, banking institutions and payment processors, assuring open and prompt replies to compliance-related inquiries.

Policy Oversight & Documentation

  • Develop and implement region-specific policies and procedures that align with global compliance standards while addressing local regulations.
  • Conduct timely reviews of policies and processes and revise as necessary to align with legal requirements and regulatory changes.
  • Meet frequently with Head of Legal to share updates, challenges and insights and to recommend corrective actions to address compliance and policy issues.
  • Identify and assess compliance vulnerabilities.
  • Develop and implement corrective actions.

Internal and External Reporting

  • Monitor regulatory developments and coordinate with the Head of Legal to update leadership on likely business impacts. Provide monthly reports.
  • Maintain records of compliance and policy-related activities including audits and departmental reviews.
  • Manage monthly reporting of content complaints as required by payment processors and credit card companies.

Records Retention

  • Assure compliance with Records Retention and Destruction policies.
  • Assure compliance with 18 U.S. Code § 2257 information retention policies.

Compliance Auditing & Monitoring

  • Conduct regular audits of platform operations, customer service interactions, financial transactions, and content moderation decisions.
  • Identify compliance risks and recommend corrective actions to leadership.
  • Ensure all compliance documentation and reporting are up to date.
  • Educate teams and departments on compliance best-practices and changes in policies, processes or regulations.
  • Prepare training materials to ensure all relevant teams, including Customer Service, Financial Support and Content Moderation are aware of their responsibilities regarding policies and compliance.
  • Work with the Head of Customer Service to ensure support teams understand and apply compliance policies correctly.
  • Coordinate with the AI & Automation Engineer and Content Moderation Manager to ensure automated moderation tools align with compliance standards across various subsets including ID and Age verification, studio onboarding, broadcaster onboarding, and CSAM scanning.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 3+ years experience in compliance, risk management, or legal advisory roles.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks, data privacy laws, and industry standards.
  • Experience conducting audits and implementing compliance controls.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with legal, customer service, and content moderation teams.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
