Position: Compliance Coordinator (Full-time, Permanent)

The Lethbridge Police Service is seeking a Compliance Coordinator responsible for managing the Ministry of Public Safety & Emergency Services compliance process. This position is under the CUPE Local 70 collective agreement.

Wage: $38.31/hour (2025 rate, under review)

Hours: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours/week with flexible/compressed work options

Responsibilities:
  1. Manage agency compliance activities and maintain compliance files using electronic document management systems.
  2. Verify compliance with law enforcement standards and address deficiencies through policies or training.
  3. Coordinate with the Policing Standards & Audits Section and prepare required reports.
  4. Serve as liaison for compliance matters with external agencies.
  5. Assist in reviewing and developing policies to ensure compliance with provincial standards.
  6. Participate in meetings, provide staff training, and coordinate assessments and inspections.
  7. Maintain contact with other law enforcement agencies and assist with technical system components like PowerDMS.
Qualifications:
  • Post-secondary diploma or relevant work experience.
  • Knowledge of Alberta Provincial Policing Standards and law enforcement policies.
  • Strong communication, multitasking, and confidentiality skills.
  • Proficiency with PowerDMS and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to obtain security clearance, including background checks and polygraph.
Hiring Process:

  3. Behavioral interview, police checks, polygraph, and reference verification.
  4. Final selection and offer.
