Job Title: Compliance Coordinator

The Lethbridge Police Service is currently accepting applications for a full-time permanent Compliance Coordinator. The Compliance Coordinator is responsible for managing the Ministry of Public Safety & Emergency Services compliance process for the Lethbridge Police Service.

This position is covered by a collective agreement with CUPE Local 70, representing employees in various civic departments within the City of Lethbridge.

Wage: $38.31 per hour (2025 Rate, wage under review)

Hours: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week, with flexible/compressed work options available

Responsibilities:
  • Plan, coordinate, and manage agency compliance activities
  • Maintain and update compliance files using electronic document management systems
  • Verify compliance with law enforcement standards and address deficiencies
  • Communicate effectively with the Policing Standards & Audits Section
  • Complete and submit reports and proofs to relevant authorities
  • Serve as liaison for compliance matters with external agencies
  • Assist in reviewing and developing policies to ensure compliance with standards
  • Participate in meetings and provide training on compliance processes
  • Coordinate compliance assessments and inspections
  • Develop compliance-related training programs
  • Maintain contact with other law enforcement agencies to improve compliance methods
  • Assist with technical system configurations, e.g., PowerDMS
Qualifications:
  • Two-year post-secondary diploma or relevant work experience
  • Knowledge of Alberta Provincial Policing Standards and compliance processes
  • Understanding of Lethbridge Police Service policies and procedures
  • Familiarity with relevant federal and provincial statutes
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written
  • Ability to multitask and work independently
  • Discretion, integrity, and confidentiality
  • Proficiency with PowerDMS and Microsoft Office
  • Willingness to undergo security clearance, including background checks and polygraph
