Job description

Meet Benevity

Benevity is the way the world does good, providing companies (and their employees) with technology to take social action on the issues they care about. Through giving, volunteering, grantmaking, employee resource groups and micro-actions, we help most of the Fortune 100 brands build better cultures and use their power for good. We’re also one of the first B Corporations in Canada, meaning we’re as committed to purpose as we are to profits. We have people working all over the world, including Canada, Spain, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, the United States and more!

We are seeking a Compensation Program Analyst to join our People Operations team, reporting directly to the Senior Manager of People Operations. This is a hands-on, execution-focused role for a compensation professional who thrives on bringing structure, clarity, and fairness to how decisions are made. The ideal candidate will balance tactical execution with the ability to support change and adoption across a growing organization.

You will play a critical role in day-to-day compensation operations, including offer approvals, promotion reviews, and internal mobility compensation decisions. You’ll bring a practical mindset to solving complex problems, offering grounded recommendations and solutions that align with our growth strategy and cultural values. You will also act as a trusted partner to People Business Partners and business leaders, helping them understand and apply our compensation frameworks.

In addition to tactical execution, you will help evolve and sustain our compensation architecture and programs by supporting thoughtful, insight-informed decision-making, facilitating enablement programs, and engaging in change management efforts. You are a strong communicator and educator who can demystify compensation for non-experts and bring people along in change.

This is a high-impact role where you will directly influence how compensation is understood, applied, and perceived across the organization.

What you’ll do:

You will be the connective tissue between compensation policy and real-world decision-making. Your work ensures that employees are paid fairly, managers are empowered to make good decisions, and the organization can scale compensation practices with clarity and trust. This is not a back-office comp role. It is embedded, influential, and essential to the employee experience.

This role supports informed decision-making by providing structured insights. Your work will guide the organization through nuance and complexity, using data to reinforce sound, thoughtful compensation choices.

Compensation Operations

  • Review and approve compensation for new hires, promotions, and internal moves across job families and levels
  • Ensure alignment with internal compensation bands and job architecture
  • Partner with Recruitment and People Business Partners to balance competitiveness with internal equity
  • Serve as the go-to resource for tactical comp questions and operational troubleshooting
  • Provide coaching and guidance to improve comp decision-making at the front line
  • Contribute to cyclical processes such as merit, promotion, and year-end reviews

Frameworks and Architecture

  • Help evolve, maintain, and refine our compensation programs, bands, job architecture, and leveling structure to support Benevity's strategy and culture
  • Manage salary survey participation and monitor market competitiveness using survey data (Radford, Comptryx, Mercer), government sources, and internal trends
  • Collaborate with external consultants on deep-dive analysis, job evaluations, or specialized projects as needed
  • Help manage compensation-related data accuracy, hygiene, and reporting in collaboration with the People Analytics / Operations team

Change Enablement & Communication

  • Drive adoption of compensation frameworks through training, playbooks, and comms
  • Develop simple, clear, and accessible materials to help leaders and People Business Partners understand our approach
  • Champion equity, transparency, and consistency in how we apply compensation philosophy
  • Work closely with the People Leadership team to align messaging and rollouts

What you’ll bring:

  • 3-5 years of experience in compensation, preferably in the tech sector
  • Strong foundational knowledge of market pricing, job leveling, internal equity, and survey participation
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with an ability to simplify complex ideas
  • Experience with change management, enablement, or stakeholder education in a fast-paced environment
  • High attention to detail, accountability, and comfort with repeatable processes, ambiguity, and data quality
  • Advanced Excel or Google Sheets required; familiarity with compensation platforms or basic data tools (e.g., Looker, SQL, Python) is a plus but not required. Solution-oriented mindset and a drive for results are essential.
  • Must be a motivated self-learner with high comfort using and learning AI tools; staying current with emerging developments is a significant advantage.
