Job summary

Superior Propane in Mississauga, ON is seeking a Compensation Consultant for a 9-month contract to drive job architecture, market pricing, and compensation programs. You will work with HR and senior leaders to deliver market-competitive solutions across corporate and non-union roles.

The role requires deep compensation expertise, Dayforce experience is a plus, and you will help with pay transparency and governance initiatives while ensuring confidentiality of data.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or related field.
  • 4–7 years of compensation experience in a large, complex organization.
  • Hands-on experience with job evaluation, job architecture, market benchmarking, merit and incentive programs, and analytics.

Responsibilities

  • Support job evaluation, job architecture, market pricing, and compensation analysis across diverse employee groups.
  • Administer annual merit, incentive plans, and off-cycle compensation reviews with forecasting, reporting, and communications.
  • Analyze market data, internal equity, financial impacts, and governance requirements to develop recommendations.
  • Prepare data-driven insights, reports, cost models, and forecasts for HR leaders and executives.
  • Contribute to pay transparency, equity, policy, and governance initiatives.
  • Provide guidance to HR partners on job leveling and market positioning.
  • Participate in compensation projects as assigned.

We are seeking a Compensation Consultant for a 9-month contract to support job architecture, market analysis, annual merit, and incentive programs within a large, complex organization. This role partners closely with HR and senior leadership to deliver data-driven, market-competitive compensation solutions across corporate, non-union, and skilled labour roles.

This opportunity is ideal for an experienced compensation professional who can work independently, quickly integrate with the team, and bring hands-on compensation cycle and HRIS experience; Dayforce experience across Canada and the United States is considered an asset.

What you’ll do:
  • Support job evaluation, job architecture, market pricing, and compensation analysis across diverse employee groups.
  • Administer annual merit, incentive plans, and off-cycle compensation reviews, including forecasting, reporting, communications, and system support.
  • Analyze market data, internal equity, financial impacts, and governance requirements to develop sound compensation recommendations.
  • Prepare clear, data-driven insights, reports, cost models, and forecasts to support HR leaders, senior leadership, hiring, retention, and workforce planning decisions.
  • Contribute to pay transparency, pay equity, compensation policy, process documentation, and governance initiatives.
  • Provide guidance to HR partners and leaders on job leveling, market positioning, compensation programs, and policy interpretation.
  • Participate in compensation projects and other initiatives as assigned.
What you bring:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
  • 4-7 years of dedicated compensation experience in a large, complex organization.
  • Hands-on experience with job evaluation, job architecture, market benchmarking, merit cycles, incentive programs, and compensation analytics.
  • Experience supporting corporate, non-union, blue-collar, and skilled labour populations.
  • Strong knowledge of compensation principles, pay equity, pay transparency, salary structures, and regulatory compliance.
  • Advanced Excel and analytical skills, with the ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Experience with HRIS and compensation systems; Dayforce experience is an asset.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, including the ability to advise HR partners and senior leaders.
  • High attention to detail, sound judgment, and a strong commitment to confidentiality and data integrity.
  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) designation completed or in progress is strongly preferred.

Salary: The expected annual salary range for this role is $70,000-$90,000, based on skills, experience, qualifications, and geography. As this is a contract opportunity, benefit and incentive eligibility will be confirmed based on the terms of the assignment.
