Job summary

West Nipissing General Hospital (WNGH) in Ontario seeks a compassionate Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) to join the Interim Long-Term Care team. This temporary, part-time role delivers resident-centred care in a collaborative hospital environment.

You’ll administer medications, monitor residents, educate families, and participate in ongoing learning. RPNs with CNO registration and a Practical Nursing diploma are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Current registration as Registered Practical Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).
• Graduation from an approved Practical Nursing program.
• BCLS certification and safe, patient-focused care.

Responsibilities

• Providing holistic, resident-centred nursing care with dignity and recovery.
• Safely administer medications per hospital policies and standards.
• Monitor, assess, and document resident conditions and vitals.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary health care team to support outcomes.
• Educate residents and families on care plans and discharge prep.
• Build therapeutic relationships through communication and empathy.
• Apply clinical skills across nursing procedures and participate in ongoing learning.
