Job summary

Sagkeeng Child and Family Services, Inc. in Manitoba seeks dedicated individuals to join our Alternative Care team in a fostering support role.

The position focuses on meeting the medical, physical, emotional and educational needs of children in our care within a safe, nurturing, structured setting. Responsibilities include coordinating transportation, participating in case planning with the assigned worker, maintaining records, and adhering to Foster Care Provincial Standards.

Qualifications

• Preferable previous experience in foster care management or support work.
• Ability to care for children aged 0–17 years.
• Valid driver's license with full insurance and $2,000,000 coverage.
• Criminal records/name checks and vulnerable sector checks required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure children’s medical, physical, emotional, and educational needs are met.
• Provide a safe, nurturing environment and maintain weekly programming.
• Teach daily life skills within a structured setting.
• Coordinate transportation for medical and therapy appointments as required.
• Participate in assessment and case planning with the Worker.
• Notify the Agency of crises as per Foster Care provincial standards.
• Maintain records and share reports with the assigned worker.
