Job summary

Interlake-Eastern Regional Health Authority is seeking a Health Care Aide for the Ashern Personal Care Home. The role supports nursing staff and assists residents with daily needs in a long-term care setting.

Position is 0.20 FTE with shifts in Days and Evenings, under the supervision of RN/LPN, aligned with the collective agreement terms for Manitoba. Applicants must complete checks prior to employment.

Qualifications

• Health Care Aide Certificate from a recognized Educational Institute.
• Understanding of the HCA role within a health care setting.
• Knowledge of activities of daily living care techniques.
• Knowledge of safe patient handling techniques.
• Knowledge of Violence Prevention Program training and processes.
• Acknowledgement of the value of human life and patient dignity.
• Knowledge of dementia care and the Resident Bill of Rights.
• Pre-employment security checks compliance.

Responsibilities

• Assist with personal care duties for clients per policy.
• Support nursing assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.
• Collaborate with the health care team to meet resident needs.
